Data Deletion Instructions

This page explains how to ask Glow Assist to delete your personal data. It applies to people who have messaged a salon that uses our service, and to salons that use our service.
If you messaged a salon on Instagram
You do not log in to Glow Assist or install anything. You simply message the salon, and our assistant helps the salon reply. So there is no app for you to remove from your Instagram settings.
To have your data deleted, choose either option.
Option 1: Email us
Send an email to hello@glowassist.ie with:
- Subject: Delete my data
- your Instagram username
- the name of the salon (or salons) you messaged
Option 2: Ask the salon
Tell the salon you messaged that you want your data deleted. The salon will pass your request to us.
What happens next
- We check that the request comes from the owner of the Instagram account. We may ask you to send a short message from that account to the salon to confirm.
- We let the salon know, because it controls your data.
- We delete the data we hold about you for that salon, including your Instagram-scoped user ID, username, name, message content, conversation logs, and any booking details stored in our systems.
- We confirm by email once deletion is complete, within 30 days of your request.
Please note:
- Appointments stored in the salon's own booking system (such as Wix Bookings) are kept by the salon. We will ask the salon to delete them, or you can ask the salon directly.
- Your messages also remain in your own Instagram inbox and in the salon's Instagram inbox. You can delete them in Instagram. We cannot delete content held by Meta or by the salon outside our systems.
- We may keep a short record that a deletion request was made and completed, without the deleted content, to show we handled it.
- If you message the salon again later, a new conversation will start.
If you are a salon using Glow Assist
Disconnect Instagram
You can remove Glow Assist's access at any time in your Instagram account settings. Go to the section for apps and websites connected to your account, find Glow Assist, and remove it. From then on, we can no longer receive or send messages for your account.
Ask us to delete your data
Email hello@glowassist.ie with the subject Delete my data, your salon name and your Instagram username. We will delete your access tokens, settings and your clients' conversation data, or return it to you first if you ask, and confirm within 30 days.
We keep billing and invoice records for 6 years, as required for tax and accounting.
